HouseBass

Whethan is Ethan Snoreck, a Chicago-born, Los Angeles-based producer who broke through while still a teenager - he left high school early in 2017 to tour with The Chainsmokers and became the youngest producer signed to Australia's Future Classic. His catalogue runs from future-bass and electropop crossovers like "High" with Dua Lipa and the streaming juggernaut "MONEY ON THE DASH" with Elley Duhe through to harder club material, and his 2024 album Life of a Wallflower, Vol. 2 pulled the sound back toward his origins. Live he plays a genuine DJ set that moves across house, bass and future bass rather than staying in one lane, which is why his PNW bookings land on club and festival bills rather than pop ones.

Popularity

How this is measured

An absolute, national (US) measure — not a ranking against the other artists on this site. We take the strongest of three open signals: ListenBrainz listens, English Wikipedia pageviews, and the number of Wikipedia language editions that have an article. The strongest one wins, so a signal we couldn't read never drags the result down. Bucket 1 means measured and small. Unrated never means small — it means we don't have the numbers.

What listeners say

80/100

The reachable reviews are strongly positive and consistently about energy and range: a Boulder Theater review describes bass 'loud enough to cause air to emanate from the hanging speakers', a set that moved from new album MIDNIGHT material through older Life of a Wallflower tracks to a Daft Punk remix, and a producer as physically involved in the music as his crowd - the writer compared his stage presence to Fred again.. and I Hate Models and his transitions to a seasoned festival DJ. An earlier Hallowhethan review from the same paper describes theatrical stagecraft (a Darth Maul entrance to The Imperial March) and a room left happily exhausted. Both readable reviews come from one student outlet, so the sample is narrow, but nothing critical of his own sets surfaced anywhere reachable - the only complaint in either review was aimed at an opening act.

Loved

+ sets range across several genres and eras in one night, MIDNIGHT to Wallflower to a Daft Punk remix+ physically engaged stage presence - compared to Fred again.. and I Hate Models+ transitions with the polish of a seasoned festival DJ+ theatrical entrances and staging when the occasion calls for it+ crowd atmosphere described as caring and PLUR-minded despite the feral energy

Gripes

− both readable reviews come from a single student outlet - a narrow sample− no professional-press live coverage was reachable to balance the picture
