HouseScene & Other

Tinlicker are Micha Heyboer and Jordi van Achthoven, who formed in Utrecht in 2012 and have spent a decade turning progressive and melodic house into something closer to songwriting than club functionalism; Hero Baldwin joined the line-up in 2025. They came up through Anjunadeep, Mau5trap and Armada and now release via PIAS, and the albums - 'This Is Not Our Universe' (2019), 'In Another Lifetime' (2022), 'Cold Enough for Snow' (2024) and 'Dreams of the Machine' (2026) - lean heavily on guest vocals from outside dance music, including alt-J, Brian Molko of Placebo, Tom Smith of Editors, Circa Waves and Ben Bohmer. They have played Coachella, Tomorrowland, Ultra, Creamfields and EDC. What matters for a ticket-buyer is that the touring show is played, not mixed: banks of MIDI keyboards and drum machines, long builds and extended arrangements, which is a different night out from a melodic-techno DJ set.

Popularity

How this is measured

An absolute, national (US) measure — not a ranking against the other artists on this site. We take the strongest of three open signals: ListenBrainz listens, English Wikipedia pageviews, and the number of Wikipedia language editions that have an article. The strongest one wins, so a signal we couldn't read never drags the result down. Bucket 1 means measured and small. Unrated never means small — it means we don't have the numbers.

What listeners say SAMPLE DATA

⚠ Placeholder — not real reviews. Sample data — these are generated placeholders, not real listener reviews. A sentiment aggregator will replace this section with sourced listener feedback.

Tinlicker have a genuinely good live reputation, but this sweep could not read it first-hand: LiveRate has no page for them, and the two substantial reviews found - EDM Identity on a Columbus show and At The Barrier on a Manchester support slot with Faithless - both returned HTTP 403. What surfaced through search summaries was uniformly positive and specific enough to be credible: reviewers describe the pair working banks of MIDI keyboards and drum machines with full control of a crowd that never dropped energy, a support-slot audience 'to rival many a headliner', tight and well-rehearsed mid-paced sets whose arrangements carry a long run without gimmicks, and Magnetic Magazine listing them among the best live electronic acts to see in 2026. Because none of it was directly readable and no criticism was recoverable at all, the figures below are sample data rather than a measured score.

Loved

+ genuinely live - keyboards and drum machines played on stage, not a DJ set+ arrangements are built to carry a long set without constant drops or tricks+ melodic writing with real vocalists translates to a crowd that sings along+ reported to hold a crowd even in support slots, and named among 2026's best live electronic acts

Gripes

− mid-paced by design - not a peak-time night, and the extended builds ask patience− no published criticism was reachable, so the positives above stand unbalanced
