Satin Jackets is the nu-disco project of German producer Tim Bernhardt, started in 2012 after years of making house under other aliases as an outlet for a lifelong disco habit. The sound is warm and unhurried — soft-focus synths, live-feeling basslines and a rotating cast of guest vocalists across records like the gold-certified Panorama Pacifico and its follow-up Solar Nights, mostly on Eskimo Recordings. It is the mid-tempo, sunset end of dance music rather than a peak-time set, which suits both PNW rooms: The Get Down in Portland on October 9, 2026 and Nectar Lounge in Seattle on October 10, where local acts Manatee Commune and Justin Hartinger support.
Popularity
How this is measured
An absolute, national (US) measure — not a ranking against the other artists on this site. We take the strongest of three open signals: ListenBrainz listens, English Wikipedia pageviews, and the number of Wikipedia language editions that have an article. The strongest one wins, so a signal we couldn't read never drags the result down. Bucket 1 means measured and small. Unrated never means small — it means we don't have the numbers.

What listeners say SAMPLE DATA
What is reachable is promotional and press coverage rather than an audience verdict — a Chicago Reader feature on the project's 'shimmering nu disco', a label-side album Q&A, and scattered positive one-liners about the records. There is no reachable body of show reviews, and nothing critical surfaced, which likely reflects thin coverage rather than universal approval. Treat this as sample data.
