Bass

MEMBA is the New York duo of Ishaan Chaudhary and Will Curry, who met on an archaeological dig in India and started making music together in 2014. Their bass music is built on what their label calls a backbone of ancient-world rhythms - Chaudhary's Bollywood and Sufi reference points, Curry's years in a Zimbabwean-style marimba band - run through a modern EDM and dubstep template, and they treat a show as a full audiovisual world rather than a set of tracks. They release through Foreign Family Collective, have played Coachella, Bonnaroo and Glastonbury, and their collaborators run from Louis The Child and EVAN GIIA to Alison Wonderland on 2026's 'KEEP SEEING THINGS'. There is a local footnote worth knowing: the label lists the duo's roots as Portland, Oregon and New Delhi, so the Portland date is closer to a homecoming than a routing stop.

Popularity

How this is measured

An absolute, national (US) measure — not a ranking against the other artists on this site. We take the strongest of three open signals: ListenBrainz listens, English Wikipedia pageviews, and the number of Wikipedia language editions that have an article. The strongest one wins, so a signal we couldn't read never drags the result down. Bucket 1 means measured and small. Unrated never means small — it means we don't have the numbers.

What listeners say SAMPLE DATA

⚠ Placeholder — not real reviews. Sample data — these are generated placeholders, not real listener reviews. A sentiment aggregator will replace this section with sourced listener feedback.

No usable body of listener or show-goer opinion was reachable for MEMBA. The coverage that exists is release-driven - DJ Mag's introduction piece, Billboard and edm.com singles write-ups, and reporting on the four EPs they timed to the phases of the moon in 2025 - all of which describes the records rather than judging the live show. Treat the absence as unknown, not as a bad sign; this is a well-covered act with no aggregated review presence.
