BassDowntempo & ExperimentalScene & Other

Lusine is Jeff McIlwain, a Texas-born, Seattle-based producer who has spent twenty-five years making some of the most precise melodic IDM around — glitch-cut rhythms, microhouse pulse and soft ambient haze, usually with a pop instinct hiding underneath. He studied electronic music and sound design at CalArts before settling in Seattle and becoming a cornerstone of Ghostly International's roster, with a 2026 run of new material including the single 'Bird's Eye'. He is a genuine local: the Hidden Hall date on September 12 is a hometown show, and Portland's The Get Down follows on September 19, 2026.

Popularity

How this is measured

An absolute, national (US) measure — not a ranking against the other artists on this site. We take the strongest of three open signals: ListenBrainz listens, English Wikipedia pageviews, and the number of Wikipedia language editions that have an article. The strongest one wins, so a signal we couldn't read never drags the result down. Bucket 1 means measured and small. Unrated never means small — it means we don't have the numbers.

What listeners say SAMPLE DATA

⚠ Placeholder — not real reviews. Sample data — these are generated placeholders, not real listener reviews. A sentiment aggregator will replace this section with sourced listener feedback.

Coverage is press rather than opinion: release notes from SIDE-LINE and Inverted Audio, an interview or two, and older album reviews from PopMatters and Treble that predate anything current. Fewer than a handful of genuine opinions were readable from permitted sources, and none about recent live sets. Treat the figures below as sample data.
