Little Simz is Simbiatu 'Simbi' Ajikawo, a rapper and actor from Islington in north London, and she is on this bill as a support act rather than as an electronic artist - both Northwest dates are Gorillaz shows. She built her reputation independently across 'A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons' (2015), 'Stillness in Wonderland' (2016) and 'Grey Area' (2019), the last of which was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and won Best Album at both the Ivor Novellos and the NME Awards. Her 2026 has been busy outside the studio too: the 'Sugar Girl' EP in May, a Miu Miu Beauty ambassadorship, a producing credit on the off-Broadway run of 'Shifters', and festival headline sets at Cross The Tracks, Lollapalooza and Osheaga. She plays the Moda Center on October 30 and Climate Pledge Arena on October 31.

Popularity

How this is measured

An absolute, national (US) measure — not a ranking against the other artists on this site. We take the strongest of three open signals: ListenBrainz listens, English Wikipedia pageviews, and the number of Wikipedia language editions that have an article. The strongest one wins, so a signal we couldn't read never drags the result down. Bucket 1 means measured and small. Unrated never means small — it means we don't have the numbers.

What listeners say

99/100

As a live act she is about as close to a sure thing as this dataset contains: LiveRate aggregates 73 critic concert reviews at 99%, and 99% across the nine reviews in the last twelve months, putting her in the top 1% of live performers it tracks. The recurring words are joyous, masterful, soulful and flawless - the Guardian's line is that the 'hip-hop visionary radiates joy and Gallagher-level swagger', the Telegraph called a set 'mesmerising', and her Royal Festival Hall show with the 42-piece Chineke! Orchestra is singled out as a rap-classical crossover that actually worked. The honest caveats are about format, not ability: the aggregate is critics rather than fans, and set lengths run from 45 minutes to two hours, so a support slot on a Gorillaz arena bill will be at the short end.

Loved

+ commanding, high-energy stage presence+ live band gives the beats real weight+ near-unanimous critical acclaim across 73 reviews+ ambitious one-off stagings, e.g. the Chineke! Orchestra show+ balances heavy lyrical themes with up-tempo bangers

Gripes

− support and festival slots can be as short as 45 minutes− aggregate is critic reviews, not fan opinion− she is a rapper, not an electronic act - expect a hip-hop set
