jigitz is a Brooklyn-based producer, originally from Albuquerque and a Portland State graduate, who spent years working inside the music business - Interscope, then Universal's culture-marketing team - while keeping his own tracks a secret on SoundCloud, before quitting the day job to do it full time. The music is indie dance built on heartache: breakbeat, house and garage textures under melancholy hooks, in the lineage press keeps comparing to Fred again... The breakout is tell you straight, from the EP all my exes live in brooklyn, and Billboard named him a dance rookie of the month in 2025. Live he goes theatrical - the shows feature ballerinas in pointe shoes, an idea that grew out of a ballet he choreographed after a breakup - and the 2026 run supports his debut album 50 Ballerinas.
Popularity
How this is measured
An absolute, national (US) measure — not a ranking against the other artists on this site. We take the strongest of three open signals: ListenBrainz listens, English Wikipedia pageviews, and the number of Wikipedia language editions that have an article. The strongest one wins, so a signal we couldn't read never drags the result down. Bucket 1 means measured and small. Unrated never means small — it means we don't have the numbers.

What listeners say SAMPLE DATA
jigitz broke out very recently and no audience or critic verdict on his live show was reachable. The coverage is introductory - a Billboard rookie profile, a student-paper artist profile, single write-ups - and it is warm but it is all about the story and the streaming numbers rather than about a room. Anyone buying a ticket here is buying on the records and the ballerina staging concept, not on a track record of reviewed shows. This is sample data.
