Jason Ross is an American DJ and producer who grew up in Minneapolis and now works out of Los Angeles. He came in through trance - Anjunabeats signed him in 2014, its first new artist in two years - and has since settled into the melodic-bass lane around Seven Lions' Ophelia Records, with the albums 1000 Faces (2020), Atlas (2022) and the 2026 record True North. His sets are emotional and vocal-led, sliding between melodic bass, progressive house and outright trance depending on the room, and he has more recently pushed into harder, hardstyle-adjacent tempos. He collaborates relentlessly, including with Seven Lions, Illenium, SLANDER, Dabin and Above & Beyond.
Popularity
We couldn't confidently match Jason Ross to an artist in MusicBrainz, so we won't put a number on them — a score taken from the wrong artist is worse than none.
How this is measured
An absolute, national (US) measure — not a ranking against the other artists on this site. We take the strongest of three open signals: ListenBrainz listens, English Wikipedia pageviews, and the number of Wikipedia language editions that have an article. The strongest one wins, so a signal we couldn't read never drags the result down. Bucket 1 means measured and small. Unrated never means small — it means we don't have the numbers.

What listeners say SAMPLE DATA
Nothing reachable here amounts to audience opinion about Jason Ross's live shows - the coverage is trade press about releases, interviews around the True North album, and collaboration announcements. That press is consistently favourable about the records, describing True North as moving between melodic bass, progressive house and cinematic electropop without losing coherence, and treating his return to trance textures as a welcome move. No show-goer verdict, positive or negative, could be sourced, so this is sample data.
