GRiZ is Grant Kwiecinski, an American producer, songwriter and DJ from Southfield, Michigan who plays live saxophone over his own productions — the thing that separates his sets from a straight bass show. His sound spans funk, electro-soul and the self-coined "future-funk", and he sits comfortably on both the jam-adjacent festival circuit and hard bass bills; the Subtronics collaboration "Griztronics" is the crossover that made him a mainstage fixture. After several years away from albums he returned in June 2026 with Future Funk Volume 1, his first studio record since 2021, and he curates his own Seven Stars festival.
Popularity
We couldn't confidently match GRiZ to an artist in MusicBrainz, so we won't put a number on them — a score taken from the wrong artist is worse than none.
How this is measured
An absolute, national (US) measure — not a ranking against the other artists on this site. We take the strongest of three open signals: ListenBrainz listens, English Wikipedia pageviews, and the number of Wikipedia language editions that have an article. The strongest one wins, so a signal we couldn't read never drags the result down. Bucket 1 means measured and small. Unrated never means small — it means we don't have the numbers.

What listeners say SAMPLE DATA
Future Funk Volume 1 (June 2026) drew favourable reviews from EDM-focused outlets for pushing his sax-led sound into heavier and more experimental territory, and Billboard covered his return after time away. That is a handful of trade reviews and an interview rather than a body of show-goer opinion, so this is not scored.
