Dieselboy is Damian Higgins, born in 1972, one of the first American DJs to build a career on drum and bass and still one of the loudest advocates for its harder end. He came up through the Pennsylvania rave circuit in the 1990s and made his name on mix CDs - 'The 6ixth Session' is the one people still write retrospectives about - while running the Human Imprint and SubHuman labels. His sets lean toward the dark, heavy, cinematic side of the genre rather than the liquid side, and he has never been shy about the distinction; he told UKF in 2024 that 'EDM is the equivalent of fast food'. He hits the Northwest on back-to-back nights supporting Craze, at Substation in Seattle on August 21 and The Den PDX on August 22.
Popularity
How this is measured
An absolute, national (US) measure — not a ranking against the other artists on this site. We take the strongest of three open signals: ListenBrainz listens, English Wikipedia pageviews, and the number of Wikipedia language editions that have an article. The strongest one wins, so a signal we couldn't read never drags the result down. Bucket 1 means measured and small. Unrated never means small — it means we don't have the numbers.

What listeners say SAMPLE DATA
Sample data - the coverage that exists is interviews and retrospectives, not a body of opinion about current shows. A Google News sweep returned 32 items, but they are overwhelmingly historical: a 2026 classic-album review of 'The 6ixth Session', a 2024 UKF interview, a 2025 Philadelphia drum-and-bass scene piece, and a string of 2008-2013 tour previews. The only genuine show review found is a 2012 college-paper notice. He has no LiveRate page, so no aggregated concert consensus exists.
