Desert Dwellers is Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe, who met through the Mojave's Moontribe full-moon gatherings and have been producing together since 1999; producer Sarkis Mikael now fills out the live lineup, and the project runs out of Boulder, Colorado. The sound is desert psychedelia for the chill-out room — deep dub bass, earthy hand percussion, cross-cultural instrumentation and ethereal vocals — that slows house and techno down into downtempo and speeds back up into psy-dub and psytrance when the floor asks for it. They are relentlessly prolific, with 96 releases on Bandcamp alone and a 2026 run taking in Psychedelic Prayers, Dreaming Of Downtempo and the August single 'Still Seeing Things'. Two very different PNW bookings: headlining Portland's Star Theater on November 14, 2026, then a support slot at Cascadia Winter Solstice Weekend in Seattle over December 17-19.
