Bluetech is a long-running American psychedelic-electronic project, born in San Diego in 1977 and now based in Seattle, which makes him one of the few names on a PNW winter bill who actually lives here. His catalogue runs from deeply atmospheric ambient and downtempo through psytrance and groove-led progressive dance music, built on organic instrumentation folded into meticulous digital sound design. He releases at a steady clip on Bandcamp - 'Earth Resonance' and 'Petite Constellations' both landed in 2026, following the two-part 'Driftworks Archives' set in late 2025. In Seattle this December he plays the Cascadia Winter Solstice Weekend and then supports Beats Antique at Nectar Lounge the following night.
Popularity
How this is measured
An absolute, national (US) measure — not a ranking against the other artists on this site. We take the strongest of three open signals: ListenBrainz listens, English Wikipedia pageviews, and the number of Wikipedia language editions that have an article. The strongest one wins, so a signal we couldn't read never drags the result down. Bucket 1 means measured and small. Unrated never means small — it means we don't have the numbers.

What listeners say SAMPLE DATA
Sample data - no genuine body of listener or show-goer opinion could be sourced. Bluetech has no LiveRate page, and a Google News sweep returned only three items across the last decade (a 2018 Echoes And Dust review of the In The Branches collaboration 'Behind the Sky', a 2019 regional listings mention, and a 2020 Leafly ambient round-up). His Bandcamp bio calls him 'a widely respected figure in the electronic music world', but that is his own copy, not audience sentiment.
